(SPOILER) MOVING KOREAN DRAMA REVIEW

Dear Anime World Lovers,

Don’t you just love Super hero movies? I know I enjoy them personally. The first time I heard about this “Moving” series, I was so excited. I waited patiently and prayed it was not going to get cancelled. This was, especially when I saw the cast list. I always joked and told others around me that it was like a Korean version of Marvel with all the super powers we planned to see while it aired.

The characters were all so different even though some of them had the same super hero powers. Their portrayal of the same power was fascinating to watch, and it made it more exciting when you realize how much potential a power could become if able to nurture it.

I had a soft spot for the children in this show while watching it, because I couldn’t imagine how scary the world could be when they felt that they knew that they were different from other children.

For those who have no idea about the show, let me explain. Moving is a supernatural Tv series that is originally a Korean webtoon by Kang Full, that focuses on parents with supernatural powers who were former Agents (spies) of South Korea. The parents and their children are all in hiding from the government because they are trying to protect their kids from being used as they once were. It’s a paranoid world for the parents when they have to check on the media for strange accidents that look supernatural enough. Someone begins killing people with super powers and now the parents have to come out of hiding to protect their children. The amazing part of the show is recognizing that the powers are hereditary and depending on the parents’ powers it is possible to possess more than one power for a child.

Kim BongSeok has two powers because of his parents and that
in my own opinion gives me the idea that he is more than capable as a hero if he is
able to learn how to control it. You can see his character development all the
way to the end, and I was so excited to see how strong he becomes. The other actors/actress that played the children in tv show were just as amazing with how they portrayed their characters, and they made it entertaining enough for me to Binge the show.

Some of the powers featured are flying or floating in Bongseoks case at the beginning of the show, and others include regenerative powers. They just keep healing their bodies no matter what happens to them. It almost feels like they are immortal when you watch it. One of the parts that terrified me was watching one of the dad just being run over and over by a van. It felt like watching a hit and run accident on repeat. To think this man got up and healed himself. This shows is really intense with all the types of powers portrayed. Another thing I was excited to note was the introduction of more powers. The different varieties made it so fun that you could experience feeling like you as a viewer might soon get a power yourself. There are just so many different emotional and attractive scenes that after watching, you feel blessed for being a part of this journey as a viewer. I have no regrets after watching this show.

One of the most interesting parts about the show is the way it was directed. The webtoon version versus the series drama is a reason for ongoing discussions, as some characters were written differently than the webtoon. In the TV series one feels compassion for even the bad guys and gets a feeling of the concept of “Them versus Us” theory. I loved that aspect of the show because it showed that everyone felt they were a protagonist in their own life story. You will feel like crying for even the bad guys because watching their
lives from their own point of view was enough as a shocker to see how living is
difficult.

Overall, I rate this drama as 9/10, because I was entertained throughout. The only issue I have is the lack of music. I felt that some scenes could have used more hypes. It felt like such a serious show and missed the fun part of how Korean dramas use sound effects. It sometimes felt like watching a Western tv show with Korean actors in it.

If you have not watched this show I have no idea what you
are waiting for. Its available on Disney Channel and for those of you who have watched
it, kindly leave a message and share who is your favourite character. I
personally love BongSeok because to me he represents innocence and courage and those are qualities I love a lot.
